new to the corpus area, so i'm looking for things to do, since doing things alone can get old. i came to this area primarily to windsurf, but i can't do that night and day. hate to look like a pervert hanging out at the beach alone, so i take myself to the movies for films like 'crouching tiger...' or 'memento', as of late, and have a cappucino. looking for other diversions: a little theatre, community or such; special music events, not just bump and grind hard rock and blues in the typical barroom scene; art shows are good; and exercise activities, especially windsurfing, and bike riding, roller blading, tennis...; learning some digital imaging, and hope to learn spanish if possible; and i can read, if it's instructive or informative , like a gary snyder or mary richardson or ed dorn...; pottery is on my list of 'to dos' also; and i have friends stranger than i, but i can always find time for more. i engrave guns and jewelry if i need money to play more, otherwise, i like to play, especially in the water. learned to snowboard last winter, so that's on the list now. actually, i'm kinda active, but as i said, i don't know anyone around here, except a couple of boardheads that come and go, and bars are generally boring. since i've never tried this angle yet, i'm open for suggestions. i've lived mostly in missouri or wisconsin and some here. spontaneously i travel; drove to alaska to take a few pictures and surprise a friend up there last year. this march i sailed to cuba to see what's happening down there. this winter....probably head north for the snowboarding and visit with friends up in the tundra. have some land in the bluffs on the missouri river where i like to boat and enjoy the sunsets. not particularly looking for romance cause that is something i can never plan, so...., and the rest is history. what's yours?
